Arriving in seattle

All international and most domestic visitors will arrive by plane to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (also known as SeaTac; IATA airport code SEA). Some domestic visitors may choose to arrive by plane to Seattle Paine Field International Airport (also known as Paine Field; IATA airport code PAE).

SeaTac has direct light rail and bus connections to accommodation zones via Sound Transit and King County Metro.

Visitors can take an intercity rail operated by Amtrak to Seattle for a more scenic route. There are three Amtrak train services that connect to Seattle. Each train also offers direct access or connections to accommodation zones.

The three Amtrak train services connect to the Seattle region from the following major cities:

King Street Station is Seattle’s central intercity rail station. The Amtrak Cascades, Coast Starlight, and Empire Builder Amtrak lines all stop at King Street.

King Street Station is a 5-minute walk from Seattle Stadium. The station is within walking distance of accommodation options in Seattle’s Pioneer Square and International District/Chinatown neighborhoods.

Local connections within Seattle are available on Sound Transit Link light rail, bus services operated by King County Metro and Sound Transit, and the First Hill Streetcar, operated by the City of Seattle.

Other ways to arrive in Seattle include by passenger ferry and by car. The international passenger ferry service arrives at Seattle’s Pier 69. The regional passenger ferry service arrives at Seattle’s Colman Dock (Pier 52) and Pier 50.

A passenger ferry service connects Seattle and Victoria, British Columbia (Canada), operated by FRS Clipper. This passenger ferry arrives at Seattle’s Pier 69. Pier 69 is within walking distance of accommodation options in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

For transit connections from Pier 69, the nearest bus stops are within a 10 to 15-minute walk. The nearest Sound Transit Link light rail station is a 25-minute walk from the pier.

Colman Dock and Pier 50 are Seattle’s main central city ferry terminal for regional ferry service. Three types of ferry service are operated from these terminals; the services that connect to the Bainbridge Island/Bremerton accommodation zone are indicated in italics:
